Good buy for the $$
Excellent optic for what it is. If you're expecting an $800 scope, you'll be disappointed. If you're expecting a functional scope that works well out to 300 yds or so, and your fine with a second focal plain reticle, there's no reason not to like this scope.

Tentative 5 star although...
For the price this is a nice scope, clear glass through a wide range of magnification, construction..., although being limited to full magnification for use of the BDC reticle is something a few manufacturers have attended to pre-production, unlike Athlon. I've been in contact with Athlon regarding BDC reticles and ranging differences in varying calibers, powder charges, velocities.... The 5 stars are for what has been versed to me as an effort at a means of a needed, IMHO calibration of the Bullet Drop Compensation reticle for different calibers, velocities, bullet BCs... at varying magnifications. Although I haven't checked back in with them, they're getting the benefit of the doubt, being they have a reputation as a reputable company. I was given a projected date of September of this year, 2024 for a BDC magnification calculator of some from not clarified to me, this isn't a small task so we may have to be patient. Update: Good morning sir. This is still in the process of being developed sir. We should have it developed by the first of the year.

Excellent product for the price point.

Nice scope for range use
Really nice scope. It was super easy to adjust and dial in. Using this on a KIDD 10/22 for bench rest, so i can’t speak to field use, but for my application it’s perfect and I’m planning to buy another for my next build. Glass clarity is great, but you also have to remember this isn’t top tier like some of the real high end stuff on the market. That said, it doesn’t and wouldn’t deter me in the least.

You won't be disappointed
Excellent scope especially for the price, can easily see 22 caliber holes in paper targets at 100 yards. Holds zero and clarity is good too

High quality scope
I’m not a crazy hunter. Only go shooting a couple times a year. Never had any issues with this scope. Easy to adjust and install. I’d buy it again if I ever needed another scope.

This is a great scope, put it on my daughters Marlin 60
This is a great scope, put it on my daughters Marlin 60 .22 with a good pair of dove tail ring mounts . Zero in after 5 shots , then she put at least 300 down range at 25 yards with CCI ammo.I did have One problem will warn about- the Rectal was stuck and had to run the turret from right to left to max several times before it came into center. Just beware , if you have heard of people tapping on there scope to insure the rectal moves this only happened out of the box, hope it never happens again only time will tell with different yardages. WILL update if happens again.

Lots of scope for the money
Good scope for the money. Purchased this because it focused down to 15yds as it went on to an air rifle. No questions asked warranty and good reviews all over the net. I'm happy.

Some people lie about products
It's not the product I dislike it's people that say things that they know nothing about. Like reticle falling off .lol that's impossible with athlon rifle scopes as the reticle is etched into the glass so please make truthfull comments!

Great scope for price and features.
So far this scope has proven itself. Bought 2 Athlon Talos 4-16x40 scopes with the intent on putting one on a .223 and the other on a .308, however I just purchased a 35 Whelen and mounted one on it and the other on the .308. So far I am happy with both. I have only ran 20 rounds through each so far, but seems to holding up well with the recoil on both. The glass is great and the illuminated reticle and side parralax adjustments are a plus. After going into a store and looking through both an Athlon scope and a Vortex scope, I decided to go with the Athlon. IMO, there wasn't much difference between the two and the added bells and whistles of the Athlon sold me. Just my 2 cents.

excellent start
Packaged nice; fairly comprehensive owner's manual, construction seems tight and solid, metal turret caps work great. Adjustments were easy. Very distinct clicks w no play in between and recticles respond very evenly. The "zero" function works great but is still about as tedious to set as with any other scope. I keep mine just about permanently at 14X and the field is very clear, focused, bright, no halos or fringing. Eye relief is perfect for my Howa 1500 with room to spare either way. I'm using it only at the range in a 223 with a heavy barrel, so I don't suppose I'll be putting its durability to recoil or exposure to weather and hunting to the test. I bought it almost exclusively for the magnification and the reviews. After 3 trips to the range and about 250 rds, none of the adjustments have slipped. It's sighted exactly where i left off from the last trip. Lovin' this scope so far.

4-16x40mm Mil Dot Excellent Scope!
This is a great scope for the money! It has very good glass. The side focus and power adjuster were stiff at first but loosened up a bit with use. I'm sure over time they will improve even more. I mounted this scope in a Benjamin Marauder .25 Synthetic Stock with medium height rings. A perfect fit. Make sure you adjust your fast focus eyepiece. One thing I really like is the reticle is not too thin. I have other high end scopes that have better quality glass, but the reticle is so thin it is so easy to lose it when trying to focus on something in brush or in the forest. If you are shooting at antelope on the open range with a fine reticle in Wyoming, then it's not a issue. Not a problem with this scope. It rocks! Big time! This a perfect scope for my Marauder. Get one of these scopes. You will be glad you did.
