Product Description:
This optic shim is designed to be installed between your red dot sight and its mounting plate. With a precise 1.0-degree taper and +/- 0.005 tolerance, this shim provides critical elevation compensation when zeroing optics—especially on platforms like the 1911 that may have limited elevation adjustment.

Why You Need It:
On certain pistols, users may find that the red dot’s elevation screw maxes out before the dot can be lowered enough to zero the optic. Rather than returning the optic as defective, this shim can raise the rear of the sight, effectively lowering the dot in the window and allowing proper zeroing.

Installation Tips:

• To lower the dot (most common use): Position the thicker side at the rear (toward the shooter).

• To raise the dot: Position the thicker side at the front (toward the muzzle).

If you encounter resistance when adjusting elevation, the shim may be required.
